Laser Skin Treatments NBL Offers
IPL (Intense Pulse Light)
NBL offers Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) using the Quanta Discovery and the Quanta Forte. This treatment focuses on sun spots and rosacea. Usually a series of 3-6 treatments is recommended.
What is IPL?
IPL, also known as Intense Pulse Light, provides both aesthetic and therapeutic benefits, similar to laser treatment. However, IPL differs from lasers in that it releases light of various wavelengths instead of focusing on just one wavelength. This scattered light penetrates deep into the second layer of the skin. IPL is commonly used for hair removal, Photorejuvenation (removal of wrinkles and signs of aging), and acne treatment.
Who is an ideal candidate?
While IPL treatment is available for almost anyone, the results may vary depending on the individual. Certain people are considered better candidates for IPL treatment as they are more likely to experience maximum benefits without any side effects. Darker skin tones carry a higher risk of visible skin pigment changes after treatment, making it less suitable. Additionally, individuals with keloid scars are not recommended for IPL treatment. It is advisable to consult with a skincare expert before undergoing IPL to receive personalized advice on the best solution for your needs. Furthermore, IPL aims to address various conditions, such as brown or red blemishes, sunspots, age spots, vascular redness, broken blood vessels, rosacea, mole-like discolorations, hormonal pigmentation, acne, and discoloration on the neck, chest, and hands.
How does IPL work?
IPL procedures do not involve surgery or incisions. A handheld device is used to pass across the targeted skin area, delivering pulses of broad-spectrum light to the skin layers. The treatment is generally not painful, although it can cause some discomfort similar to flicking of tiny rubber bands on the skin. Prior to the treatment, a topical anesthetic cream can be applied if desired.
Following the treatment, you may notice mild scabbing resembling sunburned skin. However, this should not hinder your daily activities, and you can resume work immediately. Light makeup can be applied after the treatment, but it is important to handle your skin gently during application and removal to avoid irritation.
Candela GentleMax Pro and Pro Plus
NBL possesses two advanced laser devices called Candela GentleMax Pro and Candela GentleMax Pro Plus. These lasers offer multiple applications, including treating brown spots, spider veins, and unwanted hair. They achieve this by using two specific wavelengths: 755 nm and 1064 nm.
The 755 nm wavelength targets brown spots caused by excess melanin in the skin. By emitting laser energy at this wavelength, the lasers break down the pigmented cells responsible for the appearance of brown spots.
The 1064 nm wavelength allows safe treatment for all skin types. It effectively addresses concerns like spider veins and unwanted hair. Spider veins are small visible blood vessels close to the skin’s surface. The lasers emit laser energy that targets the pigment in these veins, causing them to fade or collapse.
The lasers also offer effective hair removal. By using both the 755 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths, they can remove unwanted hair from various areas of the body. The lasers emit light energy that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles, damaging them and preventing future hair growth.
In summary, the Candela GentleMax Pro and GentleMax Pro Plus lasers at NBL provide treatments for brown spots, spider veins, and unwanted hair. They utilize wavelengths of 755 nm and 1064 nm, with the latter ensuring safe treatment for all skin types.
